Anne Lamott was born on April 10, 1954 in San Francisco, California. Her father was the writer Kenneth Lamott. She attended Goucher College. For a short time she wrote for WomenSports magazine and later began to write short pieces. Lamott is the author of the article “Shitty First Drafts”.
