Sherman Alexie was born on October 7, 1996 in Wellpinit, Washington. Alexie is an American poet, writer and filmmaker. Sherman grew up in Wellpinit, Washington on the Spokane Indian Reservation. He wrote and co-produced the movie, Smoke Signals, which one the Audience Award and Filmmakers Trophy. Alexie, is also the author of the journal “The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me”.
